General Manager (with strong HR focus)
Responsibilities:- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Boekestijn Transport's values and promotes cross border collaboration and teamwork.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships to encourage retention and ensure the team perspective is fully represented in decision making.
- Manage performance review processes that are transparent, consistent, and aligned with both individual and company goals.
- Work with team leaders and their managers abroad in our matrix structure to ensure that their performance is delivering high (internal) customer satisfaction and that employees are supported in their professional growth combined with continuous improvement of our processes.
- Ensure compliance with Moldovan labor laws, regulations, and Boekestijn Transport's internal policies.
- Lead efforts to manage HR-related risks, particularly those related to workplace safety.
- Provide guidance and support to employees during periods of change and improvements on people, process and technology to ensure smooth transitions.
- Cooperate closely within the company's group across Europe to ensure that business (and specially people) strategies are tailored to the needs of the Moldova office
- Operate effectively at various levels within the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, handling grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters in a fair and constructive manner.
- Ensure that the Moldova office offers competitive compensation and benefits packages that attract and retain top talent in our industry.
- Demonstrate a high-performance ethic with a focus on successful and from time to time innovative outcomes.
- Represent Boekestijn transport in Moldova at events, summits and be actively part of external institute like CNPM.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategies in an international work setting that drive business results in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing strong working relationships and drive collaboration.
- Fluent level of English, both spoken and written. Perfect communication in local languages.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of employment regulations, employee relations (ER) and good understanding of HR departmental areas including recruitment, employee relations, workforce administration, payroll, welfare, learning and development and HR systems.
- Experience in monitoring and driving KPIs and interpreting HR statistical reports.
- Capable of academic thinking; more importantly, able to effectively navigate and manage diverse circumstances.
- Easily communicate with people across Europe and different levels within the organization.
